Almost ten years ago, Steve Jobs rescued one of America's great companies from a death spiral we've only forgotten because the turnaround has been so complete. In 1997 there were no such things as iPods, iMacs, iTunes or Mac OS X. Somehow I don't think we need to worry about 2006.
